Oregon Garden (7 hours)

We’ll take a quick look at historic downtown Salem and the original Chemeketa site on Mill Creek where the earliest Jason Lee and missionaries, the founders of Salem, first decided to build.  Then we'll drive up to The Oregon Garden (Winter hours: Friday thru Sunday) near Silverton.  We’ll return to Salem for a visit to the Willamette Heritage Center which includes the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill and Jason Lee home.  After lunch we’ll take the romantic Buena Vista Ferry (if open), across the Willamette and then return to Salem for a tour of the State Capitol and historic Asahel Bush Home. Hotel pickups start at 8 a.m. Admission to the Gardens is included in the tour price.
